Landlord Selling House As-Is Due to COVID

Hey everybody, this is Ryne Lambert with Sell My House in Wisconsin. We buy houses in Green Bay, Appleton, Oshkosh, Manitowoc, and the surrounding areas. I’m actually coming to you here from Appleton, Wisconsin today. I just got done meeting with a property owner. He’s actually looking to sell off one of his last couple rental properties. Reason being is he wants to move down to Arizona for the winters with his wife. They are retired now. So he really wants to fully retire. He’s completely done being a landlord. So with this property, it does need quite a bit of work, and he knows that. So his plan was to actually fix up the property himself, because he’s flipped houses in the past himself.

But unfortunately, life kind of throws you a curve ball every now and then. He actually ended up getting coronavirus really bad this past fall, and he was in the hospital for quite some time. Luckily, he was able to recover enough. He’s he’s been out. But he really can’t do a whole lot of physical activity without getting really tired and getting really fatigued. So it’s going to take him quite a long time for him to finish this big project on this house.

So he let us come out and take a look at it, talk to him about what he thinks needed to be done. We talked to him about kind of what we saw as well. But yeah, he’s looking to sell it for an as-is sale if he can to avoid all the time and hassle that he’d have to do trying to get this project done. More than likely he knows that he is probably going to have to get some help on this project instead of doing it all himself.

So yeah, we were able to talk to him a little bit and we talked to him about what numbers would look like. So we’re still going back and forth trying to hopefully work it out so it’s a win-win situation, but it is something that we’re hoping we can work with them on.
